Kia ora koutou,
Haere mai, welcome to Waikouaiti School, where our vision is growing together. Nestled in the beautiful coastal town of Waikouaiti, we are proud to provide a nurturing and inspiring environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
At Waikouaiti School, we value care, respect and kindness. Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff work together to create a safe and engaging learning space that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a love for lifelong learning. We believe in strong connections with whānau and the wider community, ensuring that every student feels supported on their educational journey.
We are proud of our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and our partnership with Puketeraki Marae that helps in preparing our tamariki to be confident, capable, and compassionate individuals. Whether you are a new family considering joining our school or a long-standing member of our community, we welcome you to explore what makes Waikouaiti School so special.
Please feel free to visit, get involved, and be part of our vibrant school whānau.

The Ministry of Education has provided schools with two Teacher Only Days this year to support staff learning around the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. On Friday 29 May, our staff will join other East Otago schools for professional development in Mathematics. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause families. We have selected a date before the long weekend, which traditionally has higher absences and may also provide an opportunity for families to enjoy an extended break.
