Kia ora koutou,
Haere mai, welcome to Waikouaiti School, where our vision is growing together. Nestled in the beautiful coastal town of Waikouaiti, we are proud to provide a nurturing and inspiring environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
At Waikouaiti School, we value care, respect and kindness. Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff work together to create a safe and engaging learning space that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a love for lifelong learning. We believe in strong connections with whānau and the wider community, ensuring that every student feels supported on their educational journey.
We are proud of our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and our partnership with Puketeraki Marae that helps in preparing our tamariki to be confident, capable, and compassionate individuals. Whether you are a new family considering joining our school or a long-standing member of our community, we welcome you to explore what makes Waikouaiti School so special.
Please feel free to visit, get involved, and be part of our vibrant school whānau.

Kia ora,
Regretfully, Waikouaiti School will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 23 October, due to nationwide strike action.
Teachers, principals, and support staff are taking this action because their voices have not been heard on key education issues, including insufficient learning support funding and proposed curriculum changes.
The Government’s plan to introduce a strict, age-based curriculum would require all children to learn the same content at the same year level. Teachers believe this approach does not reflect how children actually learn. Every student develops at their own pace, and teaching needs to be flexible enough to meet those different needs.
We appreciate your understanding as we advocate for the best outcomes for our learners.
We have a new date for school photos:
Wednesday 5th November.
I have attached the photo info below. If you are still wanting to have sibling or family photos taken and haven't booked these already please click on the blue link in the photo info below to book.
