Kia ora koutou,
Haere mai, welcome to Waikouaiti School, where our vision is growing together. Nestled in the beautiful coastal town of Waikouaiti, we are proud to provide a nurturing and inspiring environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
At Waikouaiti School, we value care, respect and kindness. Our dedicated team of teachers and support staff work together to create a safe and engaging learning space that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a love for lifelong learning. We believe in strong connections with whānau and the wider community, ensuring that every student feels supported on their educational journey.
We are proud of our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and our partnership with Puketeraki Marae that helps in preparing our tamariki to be confident, capable, and compassionate individuals. Whether you are a new family considering joining our school or a long-standing member of our community, we welcome you to explore what makes Waikouaiti School so special.
Please feel free to visit, get involved, and be part of our vibrant school whānau.

Kia ora,
The last two days of 2025 have raced up on us, but we do have some good news! If you ordered school photos, they have now arrived and will be sent home with students today. Peanut butter orders from the FOTS fundraiser have also arrived and will be available for collection from the staffroom.
A reminder that our Prizegiving Assembly begins at 6pm sharp tonight, followed by the Year 6 Leavers’ Dinner. The dinner is for Year 6 students and their parents only, please.
Nga mihi
Kia ora
So sorry but today I thought I would get the water slide out at lunch time for a bit of fun. All was well until I decided to add detergent to the slide as students were not slipping on the plastic. The detergent is called MD 555 cleaner and was used in the dental clinic for cleaning dental equipment and as a result I thought, if it is for equipment being put in student mouth it would be safe.
It turns out it stings when in contact with cuts or plastic burns and we have had an afternoon of washing students down and changing clothes. Closer inspection of the container reveals it can cause mild skin irritation and eye irritation.
Some students are still a bit stingey and coming home in strange clothes, so sorry for any inconvienence caused. Please feel free to contact me directley on 0212952506
